At TamilKeyboard.in, we believe your typed text, messages, passwords, and documents belong solely to you. All phonetic transliteration, visual keyboard entry, font encoding conversion, and typing speed calculations are computed locally in your web browser. We do not store, record, transmit, or analyze any text you type using our tools.

1. Data Processing & Client-Side Execution

When you type in our Phonetic Transliteration Box, Tamil 99 Onscreen Keyboard, or Font Converters, character mapping occurs dynamically using JavaScript executing within your browser engine.

  • No Keystroke Data Transmitted: Keystrokes are processed locally without making server requests for character lookups.
  • No Clipboard Access: When you click the "Copy Text" button, your browser handles clipboard copying natively under your explicit interaction.
  • No Text Saving: When you refresh or close your browser tab, your typed text is purged from volatile browser memory unless temporarily retained in your local interface state.

2. Speech Recognition & Image OCR Privacy

For specialized features like Voice Typing and Image-to-Text OCR:

  • Voice Typing (Speech-to-Text): Voice input uses your operating system and web browser's native Web Speech API (e.g. Google Speech Recognition in Chrome). Audio streams are processed transiently by your browser vendor strictly for speech synthesis and are never recorded or stored on TamilKeyboard.in servers.
  • Image OCR: Uploaded images containing Tamil text are processed in volatile memory to extract text glyphs. Image files are immediately discarded after text extraction and are never retained on our disk or databases.

3. Cookies & Local Storage Usage

We use HTML5 LocalStorage strictly for user interface preference persistence across sessions:

  • Saving your preferred editor font size (Normal, Large, Extra Large).
  • Saving your toggle preference for Bilingual Tamil-English mode.
  • Saving your selected keyboard layout choice (Phonetic vs. Tamil 99).

We do not set intrusive persistent third-party tracking cookies or create cross-site behavioral advertising profiles.

4. Web Analytics & Server Logs

To monitor site uptime, page load speed, and user experience optimizations, standard non-identifying web server access logs may measure aggregate HTTP request statistics (e.g., requested URL path, browser user-agent string, operating system type, and anonymized IP address). This data is analyzed solely in aggregate and cannot be linked to individual user typing activity.

5. Children's Privacy & Rights

TamilKeyboard.in is an educational public reference tool accessible to users of all ages. We do not collect personal information from children or adults, requiring zero account creations, user registrations, or payment details.
